Sambalpur, Aug 24 (IBNS): At least 13 people were killed when a Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Inter-City Express train hit an auto-rickshaw in Odisha's Sambalpur district on Friday, police said.
The deceased were travelling in the auto-rickshaw.
Six others were injured in the incident that occurred at an unmanned railway crossing in the district.
The incident occurred between Sambalpur City and Maneswar railway stations when the auto-rickshaw was trying to cross the track at the railway crossing, the police said.
The injured people were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Sambalpur.
According to reports, the auto-rickshaw was on its way from Analapalli to Sindurpanka and was carrying women agricultural labourers.
