Mangalore: Students to Represent DK at the National Level Football Tournament

Mangalore, Aug 24: Four boys in the under-14 category and the girls’ team in the under-17 category from St Joseph’s P U College have been selected to play for the national level football tournament to be held in Maharashtra in 2013.

The under-17 category girls’ team has been declared winners in the state level football tournament held in Tumkur recently. While the boys’ team secured runners up at the tournament.

The four boys selected for national team are Leswin Moras, son of Lancy and Cynthia Moras, (St Joseph P U college, Bajpe), Ashwin Shetty, son of Keshava and Anusha Shetty (St Joseph P U college, Bajpe), Vernon Noronha, son of Vincent and Clara Noronha, (Morning star English Medium, Bajpe), and Pakthilal Meena (Milagres school, Mangalore).

The girls’ team has been coached under the guidance of Br Hettor who is also the principal of St Joseph’s P U College, Bajpe.  Jaison and Lawrence have coached the boys’ team.

Both the teams with their respective members will be representing Dakshina Kannada.

    Congratulations my dear students of Milagres school, Mangalore, Morning star English medium School, Bajpe and my own Alma Mater,one and only the best school, St. Joseph's Bajpe. Well done! All the very best and God's blessing. Congratulations to all the staff members and to the Brothers Hector, Miles, Joachim and Agnelo. I am really proud of the students for their excellent performance. Playing at the National level is indeed a great honour. May you all continue to shine bring glory to your families,to your school and to the society.
