Kundapur: Five Fishermen Survive after Boat Capsizes

Kundapur, Aug 25: A troll boat on its way back from fishing lost control as it was engulfed by huge waves. It is now said to reach back to the shore safely at Kodithale on Friday August 24.

Five fishermen almost became the prey to rough waves as the boat capsized has now reached the shore safely after a combat.



















 

The boat ‘Krishna Chaaya’ owned by Shankar Shipai along with five other fishermen Shankar, Subba Karvi, Laxman, Manjunath Karvi, Srinivas Sipai are survivors of the tragedy.

On Friday around 4 pm after fishing, they were said to be trapped by the rough waves. The other fishermen at the Kodi shore were alarmed but they could not rescue as the waves were rough.

It is learnt that the fishermen jumped as soon as the boat approached the shore.

Reports claim that the total loss of the boat is estimated at around Rs 6 lac. The boat lost a catch worth Rs 50,000 at sea .
