Udupi: ‘IFKCA Adarsha Teacher Award-2012’: Application are Invited

Udupi, Aug 25: International Federation of Karnataka Christians Association (IFKCA) has announced ‘Adarsha Teacher Award-2012’ for the Christian teachers of Udupi district recently.

The award will be conferred to  teachers for contributing their academic service in the primary, high school and in the college level. Christian teachers of Catholic, Protestant, Syrian or other sects are eligible to send their applications, informed a press release.

August 31 is the last date to submit applications.

Clarifying the recent announcement of award, the release stated, “On September 5, Teacher’s Day is celebrated across the country, wherein some of the teachers are awarded ‘Adarsha Shikshaka’ by the government. However, in the recent years, due to political pressures and other vested interests, the honest and apt teachers are not awarded, which has discouraged them to submit applications.

Moreover, the teachers of the Christian community, the priests, sisters and layman are not duly recognized for their service in educational sector”.
 
The association, therefore has encouraged eligible applicants to send their name, photo, achievements and more (The retired teachers of this year too are eligible).

The applications will be scrutinized by the jury. Dr Jerald Pinto, professor Milagres College, Kallianpur, Grace Vazravathi, Government School of Karkala and Professor Salvodhor Noronha, principal, St Mary’s College, Brahmavar are part of the jury team.
