Belthangady, Aug 25: DK Mehrotra, LIC chairman, recently paid an informal visit to Shree Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP).

Lauding the ongoing programmes for the community development, he said that it is one of the best organizations which is in the forefront in India.

Pointing at the efforts of Dr D Veerendra Heggade, promoter of SKDRDP, said that it is the benevolence of Heggade, that the trust has accomplished great heights.

The organization has enabled to eradicate unemployment, to alienate poverty and to create self employment. ‘Let the organization spread its wings across the country and continue to work for the betterment of the people, he wished.

He assured financial support to the organization from LIC to conduct welfare programmes to the people.

Presenting the lifestyle of former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, he encouraged the gathering about the importance of savings and to save a little of today for a better tomorrow. If saving is done bit by bit, the future problem would be lessened, thereby accumulating enough wealth for the future needs, he added.

Zonal manager AK Sahu, LIC central office and other office bearers were present.
