Mohun Bagan to Play in Jammu


Jammu, Aug 28 (IANS): For the first time, Kolkata's famed football club Mohun Bagan will be in Jammu to play the "Goodwill Tournament" next month.

Jammu and Kashmir Sports Minister R.S. Chib said Tuesday the tournament has been organised in collaboration with the central sports ministry, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and the state football association.

The tournament will be held from Sep 11, said Chib.

Chib expressed satisfaction over sports activities gaining momentum in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The success of Jammu Premier League (JPL) and Kashmir Premier League (KPL) cricket tournaments are a morale booster to hold similar events," he said.

"The government is exploring every possibility to exploit the state's sports potential to the optimum."
