Security Forces Battle Guerrillas in Kashmir


Srinagar, Aug 29 (IANS): Security forces and separatist guerrillas Wednesday fought a pitched gun battle in a village in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police surrounded a house in Lamer village in Kulgam district following information about the presence of militants, a police officer told IANS.

The battle raged for several hours. The village is located about 80 km from here.
