MobileStore Expects 30 Percent Sales Jump

Kolkata, Sep 2 (IANS): MobileStore, India's largest mobile phone retail chain, is expecting about 25-30 percent jump in sales on year-on-year basis between mid-October and the end of the year, backed by the festive season shopping spree.

The company, promoted by the Essar Group, expects sales to pick up from Navaratri festival starting Oct 16.

"Currently we are witnessing 12-15 percent sales growth month-on-month. The upswing in sales will take place on a pan-India basis from Navaratri celebrations," MobileStore CEO Himanshu Chakrawarti told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Launched in 2007, the handset retail chain now has a total of 900 stores across the country.
