Mangalore, Sep 4: As part of the nationwide call for college bandh given by Akhila Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishad, students of all colleges stayed away from classes and took part in protest and rallies urging for immediate resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the coal block allocation scam.
Students of various colleges in the city gathered at the Bunts hostel circle and blocked the road by forming a human chain to express their anger over the UPA government. The students allowed traffic to resume after a 10-minute road block.
Addressing the gathering, Ramesh K, state secretary of ABVP said that though the country is marred by neck deep corruption, PM Manmohan Singh has helplessly chosen to be silent. "The central government should be dissolved and election should be conducted. Manmohan Singh should resign from the PM's post," he demanded.
Students shouted slogans and expressed their anger over corruption in coal block allocation, aviation, Tatra trucks, 2G spectrum, Commonwealth Games among others.

Udupi Sep 4: Students from nine colleges on Tuesday September 4 staged a protest in front of Clock Tower against the coal and aviation scam of UPA government.
They marched till taluk office and handed over a memorandum to the tahsildar.
"The country's image has suffered because of scams like 2G, Commonwealth Games and coal among others," they said.
ABVP members Shivakumar G, Shashank, Deepak, Prassanna and Deeksha took part in the protests.

Kundapur, Sep 4: Students led by members of Akhila Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest against corruption of UPA government here on Tuesday September 4.
"Today corruption has become inevitable. Corruption is seen in almost every corner of our country. Almost every person has dipped himself into this sinful act. The saying ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’ is almost violated everywhere," they said.
"Money paves the way for all sorts of luxuries to lead a comfortable life. The world encourages one to be shameless and enjoy. No one realizes the suffering and pain of another. ‘Honesty is the best policy’ has become an old and outdated saying today," they said.
All colleges in the city were shut as a part of the protest. Students of Bhandakar's College protested near Koteshwar and Kundapur Shastri Circle.
The protest was staged against coal scam, Tatra truck scam, 2g spectrum scam, Commonwealth games, IPL 20-20, and black money in Swiss bank.

Wed, Sep 05 2012Dear Sirs:
My advise to students is not referring on any party politics. Who ever is wrong is wrong. I feel our Indian Students are really good students but their education will get spoiled by these political party. I was in USA 26 years and seen our Indian students are always on the top and mostly our Indian students in USA get the Presidential scholarship which make me to feel so proud of our Indian students shining in USA. I have never mentioned any party in my comments. How ever may God bless you all. I am an Indian and I will die as an Indian.

Poor parents needs to run from pillar to post! Wise parents will advise their wards not to get involved with such protests. It applies to protests organised by any party! Tue, Sep 04 2012At the outset, I am in not support of any political party,
It is a very well known fact locally and internationally that MMS is an incompetent individual, who lacks political acumen. The world renowned US magazine ‘TIME ‘had him on its cover with the caption as ‘The Underachiever’. I read the article and mates this is literally a shame to our nation. He has failed in every aspect in his tenure.
It’s obvious he has to be replaced. Meanwhile on the above protests, when you can have 10 protests for a freaking ‘home stay’ attack, that would not solve the problems of common man, why don’t we have one for a worthy cause?
