Sydney, Sep 17 (IANS): Australia's new motor vehicles sales rose 3.6 percent in August compared with July, data released Monday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) showed.
According to the ABS, 93,379 new vehicles were sold in Australia in August, up from 90,135 in July.
Sales of new motor vehicles increased in seven of the eight states and territories in August, compared to July, the ABS said.
Queensland recorded the largest percentage increase, up 6.8 percent, followed by the Australian Capital Territory (6.7 percent) and New South Wales (4.7 percent), while Tasmania recorded a decrease of 9.9 percent over the same period.
