New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS): Automobile major Tata Motors Group Monday reported an increase of 13 percent in its global sales in August which stood at 97,225 units.
According to the company, its global commercial vehicles sales of brands like Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range grew by four percent in the month under review and stood at 50,084 units.
"Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles were at 47,141 units in August 2012, higher by 23 percent," the company said in a statement.
Sales of standalone Tata passenger vehicles zoomed by 35 percent at 23,081 units over August 2011. The cumulative wholesales for standalone Tata passenger cars till date in the fiscal grew by 10 percent at 112,163 units.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) sales last month increased by 13 percent at 24,060 units. Cumulative sales of JLR for the fiscal till now grew by 31 percent at 134,433 units.
"Jaguar wholesales for the month were 2,960 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were at 18,798 vehicles," the statement said.
While Land Rover sales in August stood at 21,100 units and cumulative sales in the fiscal till now were 115,635 units.
The overall cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were up 11 percent at 475,381 units compared to the corresponding period in 2011-12.
