Dubai, Sep 17 : Udenthichin Neketram, Moodabidri Varado Catholic Association’s Monthi Fest celebration was held in the Auditorium of The Apple International School, Al Qusais, on 14th September, 2012 from 12.15pm to 4.00pm.
The celebration began with a welcome prayer dance by children from Ocean Kids, Dubai. Master of Ceremony Ullas Fernandes introduced MVCA president Joshve Dsouza who welcomed the gathering with his sweet and short welcome message and welcomed all Ex-presidents, members & guests to the celebration.
Prayer to worship Mother Mary was conducted by our Guest Priest Rev. Fr. Cyprian Pinto, Parish Priest of Udyavar Parish (originally from Sirthday Parish of Moodbidri Varado) followed by offering of flowers to infant Mother Mary by children while singing hymn sakkad sangatha mellyam and Maryek Hogolsiyam. Rev. Fr. Charles Furtado, Professor, Darshan Institute of Theology Bangalore was Chief Guest for the day.
Main attraction of the evening was fancy dress competition for children which was started at last year’s Monthi Fest Celebration for the first time. Once again children from various parishes of Moodbidri varado exhibited their skills which was much appreciated by audience.
Skits from talented artists (Alwyn Pinto, Joel Fernandes & Joel Correa) of Udenthichim Neketram and Dances from Ocean Kids and Feet beat group Dubai were entertained audience. Various spot prizes and games were conducted for children, gents and ladies. Our founder member Mr. Roque Noronha known for his generosity, willingly sponsored the spot prizes.
Rev. Fr. Charles Furtado, Professor, Darshan Institute of Theology Bangalore, graced the occasion. He blessed the delicious food which was prepared by Al Shay restaurant Karama. Every one enjoyed the delicious meal in Mangalorean style & altogether a typical Mangalorean atmosphere could be felt. It was really wonderful experience of living in Mangalorean culture together.

The programme came to an end with housie game conducted by Mr. Richard Saldanha, Sampige and a broad smile on every participants faces. Overall the MVCA Nativity Feast celebration was an outstanding success, and we sincerely thank MVCA members and their friends for their attendance.
