Jubail, Sept 18: It was a fabulous event for cricket lovers from all around Dammam, Khobar and Jubail.
The cricket lovers of the cities thronged the venue of Gammatt summer cup. 14 teams participated and the final match was held between Real Tech Jubail and Khobar United. Real Tech Jubail emerged victorious in a fabulous match.
“This is a moment of eminence for the entire Jokatte community”, said Zakaria Muzain manifesting his delight. He was inaugurating the Gammatt Summer cup cricket tournament kicking off the Gammatt family get together scheduled to be on September 20 at Isthiraha Hala, 91 Area, Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The cricket match event was characterized by the attendance of B S Hussian Jokatte, a ex-government gazetted officer who arrived from India for an Umra trip and to meet his kins residing in Saudi Arabia.
The first ball was faced by Zakariya Muzain and his partner was B S Hussain both expressed their overpowering ecstasy during the occasion.
The match, sponsored by JMWA, was played in a floodlight ground located in Jubail. 14 Teams competed in the title viz, Al-Falah v/s Muzain, KFC v/S Eastern Blues, NGC v/s Zamil, Amaco v/s SASP , Expertise v/s Real Tech, SAB v/s Khobar United & Blue star v/s MFC .
All the matches were played with MRI ball, with a magnificent electronic score board updating the score ball by ball.
On Friday September 14, the final match was played between realtech and Khobar united, realtech captain won the toss and set Khobar united to bat first.
KU scored 35 runs in the stipulated 6 overs with a loss of 5 wickets. Real Tech Jubail was able to beat the opponent in 4.3 overs.
Khashif, Khobar United won best batsman and Ilyas of Real Tech was declared the best bowler of the tournament. Malik of Real Tech won the best wicket keeper award and Mohsin of Khobar United was named as best outfielder.
Imthiaz of Real Tech was declared the man of the match and Hamza of Real Tech was adjudged man of the series. Apart from this All KU and RT members were awarded the gold medals and silver medal respectively.
Talking on the event, JMWA president Mohammed Sharafullah thanked all executive members and volunteers for their support. They included Arif Jokatte expertise, Mohammed Shareef, Mohiyuddeen, Salah, Abdul Rahman Cheyyon ,Ravoof, ZaheerMuzain and others who worked hard to make this event a big success.
Zakaria Muzain once again appealed for the generous support from the magnanimous people and requested to maximize the attendance for gammat family meet and to make the occasion memorable B S Hussain Jokatte, KS Shiekh expertise; Salman, SAB and Zakaria Ismail, BHRCO were present on stage at the final ceremony.
The event was anchored by Mohammed Ismail Ahmed (Basheer), who repeatedly exhorted the players to offer their daily prayers regularly, and to abstain from any acts that may incur the wrath and displeasure of almighty Allah.
