Mumbai, Sep 20: The parishioners of Our Lady of the Rosary Church recently celebrated the Monti fest with gaiety, here.

The day commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in Konkani at 7 am. Fr Richard Crasto was the main celebrant. The new paddy corns were blessed during the Eucharist.

The cultural programme was held from 11.30 am onwards which was graced by the parish priest Fr Richard Crasto and the OLR parish team. Geneview Correa welcomed the gathering. The programme included singing of Konkani sons, dance to Konkani tunes and Konkani comedy skits. The cultural programme was arranged by Jenitha D'Souza.

There was a lucky draw for the audience. The programme ended with the delicious vegetarian meal that was served to over 320 people. As a part of the tradition sugarcane was distributed to all.

The Novem Jevonn organization committee included Alex D'Souza, William Fernandes, Jacob Rodrigues, Austin Rodrigues, Edwin Ferrao, Johnson D'Souza and Geneview Correa.

Denis Menezes was honoured for his gracious support. Winnie Saldanha compered the programme.
