Mumbai: Monti Fest Celebrated at Dahisar

Mumbai, Sep 19:  Monti fest was celebrated at St Louis Church, Dahisar west on September 16 in a solemn manner.

The celebration began with Novena to Mother Mary, Blessings of new paddy and flower offerings. The Maria Bombina statue was decorated with flowers. The crowd moved with the Maria Bombna statue in a procession to the church for a Konkani mass.

Fr Ronson R D’Souza CSC was the main celebrant. Fr Leo D’souza CSC, the parish priest, Fr Johnny CSC, the principal and Fr Ashok Vino CSC, the administrator con-celebrated Mass. The liturgy and choir was well organized by the liturgical committee.

After the mass there was attractive cultural programme by the Konkani speaking people. All the parish priests and Salvadore Saldanha the chief guest of the programme were honored with bouquets.

"Ugtem kar tumche Dole" a skit written and directed by Joseph D’Souza Borivili was presented by the local artists.

The celebration ended with the Noven Jevon.

    Collective decisions and efforts of the related committee bore good fruits.Instead of overseeing we should learn to work for the betterment of the parish activities.

    Thanks to Mr.Ancy D'Souza for the news coverage and Photos. From last few years i am overseing these programs along with Priest incharge. Every year people of our parish, young and old show their talents in different ways. Our aim is to serv the people and Glorify God, not for worldly name or fame. This year and every year our people do their best, by the grace of God.

    • The Cultural programme was well organized by Ms. Josphin. She has done wonderful job in bringing all the parishioners together as a family. Most of them showed their talents on the stage.
