Mumbai, Sep 26: Business tycoon and owner of hotel Devi Kripa, Yekkaru Megina Malevu Vittal Shetty recently passed away at his residence, Greenland, near J B Nagar.

He was honored by Mumbai police commissioner for his bravery and courage and was also felicitated in the presence of businessman Sudhakar Hegde, head of Ahar Samsthe.

He served as a social worker and philanthropist and was associated with many organizations. He was an admirer and promoter of Yakshagana, and member of Andheri Karnataka Sangha. He was well known in his locality as an hotelier from five decades.

He is survived by son Jagadish Shetty, wife and three daughters.

The funeral rites were held at Andheri wherein several business personalities paid their last respects.
