Mumbai, Oct 4 (Agencies) : A city hotelier was shot at by two bike-borne men in Andheri (West) on Wednesday night. B R Shetty, who owns a slew of restaurants, bars and hotels, was driving to his Malad home from Andheri Link Road around 9.45 pm when he was attacked.
B R Shetty hails from Olakadu in Udupi district in Karnataka and is a prominent hotelier in Mumbai.
Despite being shot in his right shoulder, he drove to the Oshiwara police station, from where he was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. His condition is believed to be stable.
Cops suspect the attack, which took place near Infiniti Mall, may be linked to business rivalry. They have spoken to some witnesses and are trying to prepare sketches of the two men, who fired three rounds before fleeing on their motorcycle.
An officer with the Amboli police, who are investigating the case, said that so far no suspects had been identified.
Shetty, a resident of Evershine Nagar, Malad, runs Club Escape and Krishna Bar in Andheri, and Kancha Bar & Restaurant in Goregaon. He also owns hotels in Goa and Malaysia.
