Congress Targets Bhushans Over Land in Himachal

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS): The Congress Thursday targeted India Against Corruption (IAC) member and senior advocate Prashant Bhushan and his family members over land in Himachal Pradesh allegedly acquired by an educational society linked to him at a concessional price.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Himachal Pradesh had given away the land in Palampur worth several crores of rupees to the educational society for just a few lakhs. Some members of the Bhushan family are part of the trust.

"But no work has taken place on the land, which is a garden land. It was given away to the educational society at a cheap rate. If this is not corruption, what is?" Shukla asked.
He told reporters here that the matter was raised by Congress legislators in Himachal Pradesh, but no action had been initiated by the state government.

Reacting to Shukla's allegations, Prashant Bhushan's father Shanti Bhushan said his family had committed no wrongdoing. The allotment was made after due legal processes were adhered to, he said.

"Let the government order a probe and investigate the matter thoroughly. We are ready to be probed," Shanti Bhushan, also a senior lawyer, said. The father and son are key members of the IAC.

The Congress has come under attack in recent days from IAC, whose member Arvind Kejriwal has targeted party chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra over his business deals with realty major DLF.

Kejriwal suggested there was a quid pro quo in the Vadra-DLF deals for land allotted to the company by the Congress-ruled Haryana government.

    Our Central Congress Ministers ( some of them ex CM's ) have stooped so low by trying to protect " an individual " , that too in a money laundering case. Would they have done it to any other Indian Citizen ?

    The joke is to have seen them pounce on Jagan Reddy, Kanimozi , A.Raja etc in a similar situation.I agree that in this case its " our madame's son-in-law " involved ! Silly idiots !

    Dear Jude, you know one saying in TULU, "After listening Ramayana until morning, one asked the question that what is the relation between Rama and Sita. Your case also same. You know why, Vadra is having nexus with powerful political ruling family. He can do anything, he can eat your so called judiciary, CBI and Income Tax Department.Shameless people like Chidu, Raja, Kalmadi, Vadra and many more cooperating each other when their scandal's leaked out. Recently IOC slapped on Congress party and UPA govt by saying that Kalmadi's name should not be consider for the Indian Olympic Association. This certificate is more than enough for honesty of congress family. BJP also having same problem, this is also the group of thugs. I pointed out only congress you know why, you are commenting like Congress spokes person. Please don't imitate anyone blindly, condemn all corrupt clans irrespective of their party line.

    The government which is ruling the country stating that Bhushans are involved in corrupt activities is very funny. Government cant cry foul. They are in a position to carry out all kind of investigation. This comment by a minister makes me to feel that the central government of India is totally useless and impotent. Bhushans and Himachal CM challenged that they are ready for any kind of investigation. Then what is congress waiting for?
    Ask Vadra also to go through investigation.
    When the people with corruption charges like Chidu, Lalu, Sharad Pawar, Kurshid, Bharadwaj, Moily etc are giving clean chit to Vadra, all of us get convinced that Vadra also commited something. So all these Vadra supporters simply harming Vadra by their comments. Mr. Jude, please think before commenting otherwise many may doubt your credibility also.

    It is surprising to see all the Congress Union Ministers coming on to support Robert Vadra and his corrupt practices.It is such a shame with the whole world watching this mud slinging, whether true or false.

    The Congress Union Ministers should spend all their time to see that no Indian goes to sleep hungry. They are only making a fool of themselves by trying to protect their ' madame's son-in-law ', like house maids / butlers !

    Nagesh Nayak, If that was the case then the congress could have eaten up your BJP years ago and made India a single party state. We have a robust judiciary and honest institutions. Secondly Prashant Poojary, I am not saying who is honest and who is corrupt. Every person is innocent until proven guilty after due process of the law. It applies to Vadra as well as to Kejriwal and Bhushan. Vadra is not a governemnt servant. He is a private citizen and if anyone has proof of his wrong doing they can approach the judiciary for justice and exposure. Until then his rights give him the liberty to ignore fools like Kejriwal or the media. Nobody can force him to talk except the law of the land and its institutions.

    The income tax and Revenue departments pay you a commission if you are able to provide proof on any tax evader. Since this Kejriwal gang claims that they have proof of tax evasion against Vadra, why can't he go and submit the proof to the IT Dept? He will earn crores for his efforts by which he can finance his party and also benefit the nation. He himself was in this department before and he knows that his claims are stupid and that is why he is using the media and the gullible population simply to get even with his detractors.This is called shoot an scoot method. He is a coward.The Haryana govt has refuted all his claims point by point and secondly since this particular land issue began in 1989, many governments have ruled Haryana and not just the congress.Patric Jeppu, why can't Kejriwal and gang file a PIL in courts against Vadra as he claims to have all proof. I can bet you that if he does so he will come out fully naked and exposed and may even have to spend time in prison for character assassination.

    Although many are in the knowing about the business transaction of Vadra, there is not one person in the country who could come out openly and expose how India is being looted. A man like Arvind Kejriwal only had the courage to bring out the shady deals of Vadra with DLF and Haryana State. Hats off to the IAC activist. I only hope his life is not harmed by those affected. All the real estate dealings are mostly mafia controlled. The Bhushan's are spotless people and dragging their names in the Himachal land for School scheme will show how desperate Congress is in trying their utmost to tarnish the clean image of the Bhusans.

    The same applies to Kejiwal and his crooked gang of appa maga Bhushan's. You too have to prove that you are innocent, the same way you make nonsense allegations against others. Every morning our Kejriwal clown comes with some new allegation against ministers whom he does not like and the khaki chelas start blowing the trumpet.     Let there be a CBI investigation on both Robert Vadra and Bhushan's case.
    Earlier also congress had come up with another allegation against Bhusans in UP.
    It is outrageously funny to see that authorities discover irregularities committed by Kejriwal, Ramdev, Bhusan and Kiran Bedi only when they raise some other corruption issue. People are not fools Mr. Sibal and party.

    Let them probe the Bhusan & if he is not clean he must be punished.

    However it doesnt prove that congress is not corrupt. What this mango man of Banana republic is asking here is when they want to probe Bhusan, why they are protecting Nations son in law Robert.
