Russia Tests Anti-missile System

Moscow, Oct 17 (IANS): Russia fired a short-range missile Tuesday to test its missile defence system.

The test, conducted at Sary-Shagan firing range in Kazakhstan, confirmed the technical performance of the system which Russia already put to use, Xinhua reported.

"The scientific and design works are underway to improve the combat capabilities of the system," defence ministry spokesman Alexei Zolotukhin told reporters.
