Shanghai, Oct 26 (IANS): Microblogs of various Shanghai government departments have attracted some 30 million followers since their inception.
There are 2,000 microblogs combining all government departments. The microblogs help improve transparency, said city mayor Han Zheng.
The government's main microblog was launched in December 2011. Some 250 million Chinese were using microblogs as of December 2011, Xinhua reported quoting official data.
