Udupi, Nov 2: The inter district football match was inaugurated by Belapu Deviprasad Shetty, panchayat Okkuta president here at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Hejamady here on Thursday November 1.
The four day football tournament was organized by SFC Football club where more than 30 teams participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Deviprasad said that football is not only a game, but it also symbolizes knowledge and power. Players are lucky to have such a beautiful stadium in Hejamadi, he added.
He advised the youth to make good use of all the opportunities available to them.
Shashikanth Padubidri, former zilla panchayat member, Shekar Hejamadi, dalit leader, Sudhakar Karkera Hejamadi, Rocky D’Silva, Ravi Hejamadi, Haneef Hejamadi among others were present.
