Russian Survives 20 Storey Plunge

Vladivostok (Russia) , Nov 6 (IANS/RIA Novosti): A resident of Russia's far eastern city of Vladivostok survived a fall from the 20th storey of a residential building, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

The man was apparently saved by a car roof, which broke his fall.

"The man leaned out of a window to have a smoke late at night, but fell out. He survived because he fell on the roof of a parked SUV," he said.

The car alarm went off, the owner woke up and called police and doctors.

"Doctors diagnosed the man with multiple injuries. He was taken to intensive care," the spokesman said.
