Get India Trade Fair Tickets at Delhi Metro Stations


New Delhi, Nov 11 (IANS): Tickets for the annual India International Trade Fair's (IITF) business visitors will be available at 26 Metro stations in the capital from Nov 14, a Metro statement said Sunday.

The 14-day-long exhibition will have 6,000 exhibitors participating from India and abroad, showcasing a wide variety of products ranging from electronics, decorative, FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and accessories.

The fair will be open for business visitors Nov 14-18 for which the tickets are priced at Rs.400 each. For the general public, the fair opens Nov 19 and ends Nov 27.

The tickets for general public will be available at all metro stations from Nov 19.

According to Metro officials, tickets from Nov 19 can be purchased from customer care centres at all Metro stations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"The tickets are priced at Rs.50 for adults and Rs.30 for children on weekdays and Rs.80 and Rs.50, respectively, on weekends," a Metro statement said. No advance tickets will be available.

Additional ticket counters, customer facilitation agents and security guards will be installed at the Pragati Maidan Metro station as it will see the maximum footfall since it is near the fair venue.

"During last year's fair, the average daily ridership to Pragati Maidan was about 1.2 lakh passengers per day," the statement said.

The Metro stations from which business class tickets can be bought are: Rithala, Dilshad Garden, Jahangirpuri, HUDA City Centre, Noida City Centre, Anand Vihar, Central Secretariat, Inderlok, Kashmere Gate, Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba, Saket, MG Road, Noida Sec-14, Vaishali, Rajouri Garden, Janakpuri West, Dwarka Mor, Dwarka Sec-9, Mundka, Nangloi, Peeragarhi, Punjabi Bagh, Badarpur, Govindpuri and Lajpat Nagar.

Delhi Metro now makes over 2,700 trips a day, covering about 70,000 km and carrying around 1.8 million passengers on weekdays.
