Mangalore: Inauguration, Blessing of St Joseph’s ITI New Block to be held on Nov 15

Mangalore, Nov 13: St Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute (SJITI) Jeppu, has a new block, built at the cost of Rs 120 lacs, and it will be blessed and inaugurated on November 15 at 9:30 am.

Dr Aloysius Paul D’ Souza the bishop of Mangalore and the president of St Joseph’s Engineering Education Trust will bless the new building and will preside over the function.

Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo the Bishop of Udupi Diocese will be the chief guest and will inaugurate the new block.

On the occasion of the blessing and inauguration of this new block in order to bring about the awareness of the technical developments in the modern times an Industrial Exhibition “JOSTECH” has been organized, which will be inaugurated by Oscar Fernandes, MP (Rajya Sabha).

The exhibition “JOSTECH” will be open to the public and to the students on of November 15 and November 16. Reputed Technical Institutions from Mangalore are a part of the exhibition.

St Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute (SJITI) founded by the Diocese of Mangalore in the year 1997 with the objective of imparting occupational training in technical Education to the youth of the weaker section of the society.  The Institute is affiliated to the National Council For Vacational Training (NCVT) under the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Rehabilitation, Govt. of India.   

The Institute is offering course in five Trades such as Fitter (Mechanical), Machinist and CNC, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Turner and CNC and Carpentry. For the last 15 years the Institute has trained more than 1000 students and all of them are well placed in various industries in India and abroad. We are very happy to inform you that the Institute has secured 100% results in the exams held in July–August 2012.   

The new block has 6 spacious Class Rooms, 4 Labs for various Courses and a well equipped Computer Lab to give not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical training to the students.  The new block is equipped with a staff room, principal’s chamber, office room and also the lift facility.  

St Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute is the off shoot of the St Joseph’s Asylum Industrial Work shop, Jeppu. The work shop has a history of 130 years. The workshop has Departments such as Machine shop, Fitting and Assembly section, Chassis Reshaping section, Carpentry and Statuary Section.  All these departments are at the disposal of the students for their practical training.
