Udupi: Young Artists Showcase their Skills at Drawing Competition

Udupi, Nov 14: "Drawings were the initial language of the human kind. Drawing as a media helps to portray inner feelings of a person, it also helps in the personnel develpoment of the students", said Additional DC, Kumar.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district level Primary, High School students Drawing Competition, organised by the Social Justice and empowerment department, District panchayath, Public Education Department and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

The drawing competition held in the name of Narcotic Drugs Comsumption, helps in developing the sense of social values and awareness among students.

"People are getting addicted towards these drugs due to superstitious beliefs and lack of education.  If students are given proper knowledge and awareness in this regard, it is possible to build up a drugs free society, he said.

Education Departmet vice director, Nagendra Madhyastha, presided over the programme.

"Alcohol consumers are a threat to the nation. National economic strength is possible to achieve with the deletion of narcotic drugs. It if not possible to get everything under control with the help of Law enforcement", he said.

Paryaya Sode Mutt Diwan Padigara Srinivas thantri, Chitrakala Association President Bhoja Handa were present. Education Officer, Ashok Kamath welcomed, proposed the vote of thanks and compeered the programme.
