Dubai, Nov 14: It was a splendid occasion for “KaDaM” (Kundapura Devadiga Mitra) members when they congregated to commemorate their second anniversary recently at Regal plaza Hotel, Bur Dubai.
The program kick started at 11.30 am with the lighting of the lamp by Mrs and Mr Manoj Devadiga, Mrs and Mr Seena Devadiga, Mr and Mrs Pramod Devadiga, Mr and Mrs Dinesh Devadiga and Raju Devadiga Trasi followed by a prayer song recited by Shruthi Ravi, Jyothi Sudhakar, and Reshma Pramod.
Master of ceremony Nithyanand Beskoor welcomed the gathering, while welcoming the members, sponsors and the media he elucidated the importance of being a member and urged the community members to join the team. Co-host Asha Sridhar Devadiga joined him a while later. Narayan Devadiga Badakere in his introductory speech gave every detail of how KaDaM functioned from the date of inception and its activities till date. As per the records, “KaDaM” has collected around 10 lakhs for KaDaM Education Fund, Rs.86, 000.00 was distributed as scholarship to the needy and meritorious students and Rs 2 lakhs was distributed among the hospitalized patients as medical expenses during current year in and around Kundapura.
For a Noble cause, Rs. 10,000.00 towards book distribution was handed over to Devadiga Sangha Moodabidri through Prakash Devadiga who was present at the function and Rs.10,000.00 was announced to help 8 year old student Swapnil Devadiga who is bed ridden due to an accident.
The cultural program started with a spellbinding Bharatha Natya Dance by Kumari Maunika.
Pramod enthralled the audience with his melodious voice, imitating Abhijeet and Dr. Rajkumar, singing great numbers from Hindi and Kannada films. Yuvraj Devadiga and Sandeep Shetty too thrilled the audience with their ever charming voice and kept the audience entertained.
The ladies duo Vani and Shruthi equally contributed by singing great numbers from Hindi and Kannada cinemas.
Sithan, Rujutha Beskoor, Rhea, Ashritha U Bijoor and Vaishnavi kept the audience delighted by their superb dance performance. Rujutha Nithyanand Beskoor played a key board song Kal Ho Na Ho.
Skits from Monappa and Party “Ondu STD Booth Kathe” and “Driving License” enacted by Prashanth Nair, Jesh Bayar, Ramesh Suvarna, Manoj Belman and Monappa sent waves of laughter among the audience.
KaDaM Ladies Prathima Narayan, Asha Shridhar, Sunita Manoj and Shruthi Ravi Devadiga danced well for “KaDaM Remix Song”. KaDaM Men’s team comprising Lokesh, Sathish, Sridhar, Dinakar, Manjunath, Ravi Devadiga, Ravi Basroor and Sathish Devadiga danced for a grave yard visualized Kannada song “Tangaliyalli Theli Bande” both dance was choreographed by Sathish Devadiga.
KaDaM Devadiga Sadaka Prashasti - 2012 conferred on Seena Devadiga
This year 'Devadiga Sadaka Prashasti' was conferred on Seena Devadiga for his service to community and for his social service. Devadiga Sadaka prashasti is given to individuals to recognize their work in social service or any other field. This time the core committee proudly selected Seena Devadiga for his service in the hospitality industry and social service.
Seena Devadiga is the proud owner of Udupi Restaurant in Karama and since the last 3 decades has been catering to various Kannada Sanghas in Dubai with his unique Udupi style of food. He is a known person having acquaintance with leaders of various Sanghas in Dubai.
Sheena Devadiga was honoured with Shawl by B G Mohandas in front of dignitaries on the dais and enthralled audience in a traditional style followed by Peta from Dinesh Devadiga, Garland by Sudhakar Devadiga, Bouquet by Asha Devadiga, and fruits by Udayachandra Bijoor.
Asha read out the Prashasti Patra before B G Mohandas presenting it to Seena Devadiga.
Later on other honorable guests, Aryabhata award recipient Praveen Shetty from Fortune Group of Hotels, Raju Devadiga Trasi former vice president Udupi Zilla Panchayat, D. R. Bendre maiden award recipient B G Mohandas, and former Aryabhata award recipient Satish Venkataramana of Chilli Willi were also felicitated.
Herman Lewis, Radio Spice, Shodhan Prasad, Nama Tuluveru, Balakrishna Salian, Vice president Mogaveera Sangha Dubai, Dhanraj, Sukhsagar Group, Santosh Nazarat, Doral IT System was some of the other dignitaries on the dais. Praveen Shetty, Herman Lewis, Dhanraj and Raju Devadiga spoke on the occasion.
Mementos were given to all sponsors, participants and media persons for their support and coverage.
Prizes were given to all the winners of games conducted by Asha Devadiga and raffle draw was also part of the day.
The event was concluded by vote of thanks given by Raghavendra Basroor. He thanked all the sponsors, participants, guests of various organizations, well-wishers and members for the wholehearted support to make the event success.
