Pakistan Frees 13 Afghan Militants


Islamabad, Nov 16 (IANS): Pakistan has freed 13 Afghan Taliban militants.

Taliban leader Anwar Haq Mujahid was among those release Thursday, Xinhua reported.

Earlier Afghanistan had submitted a list of Taliban leaders to Pakistan for their release. Mujahid was the Taliban commander when he was arrested in Pakistan in 2009.

Both countries have agreed to form a group to establish contact with Taliban as part of a move take forward the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
