Mangalore: Robbers Attack Elderly Couple at Someshwar

Mangalore, Nov 20: Three robbers barged into the house, attacked an elderly couple with knife and fled from the spot with a Mangalsutra weighing 3 sovereigns.

The incident was reported near Ombattukere in Someshwar on Monday November 17.
 
The robbers, who were masked, attacked a house belonging to Vittal Nayak and his wife Sharada (67) and threatened them. They threatened Vittal Nayak by catching his neck and pierced Sharada's mouth with a knife and snatched her chain by taking her into a room.
 
Meanwhile, hearing their mentally unstable son scream, locals gathered and the thieves fled from the house with one Mangalsutra and two imitation bangles.
 
As the robbers spoke in Tulu, police suspected that the thieves were familiar with the family.
 
An injured Sharada was taken to a nearby hospital. MLA U T Khader paid her a visit.
 
A case has been registered in the Ullal police station.
