Bhatkal: One Dead, Two Injured in Lorry Accident

Bhatkal, Nov 20: A speeding lorry transporting fish collided against a tree on Monday November 19 evening on the National Highway near Murudeshwar.

Businessman Hussain Ismail who was in the lorry was killed on the spot.

Lorry driver Nagesh Naik (35) of Belke and Jinath Narayan Naik were injured and taken to RNS hospital for initial treatment and thereafter shifted to Kundapur.

The lorry was plying from Honnavar to Mangalore with a truck load of fish. Sources said that the lorry was speeding at 100 km/hr. The impact of the incident resulted in fish being scattered all across the road.

A case has been registered at the Murudeshwar Police station. The police have filed a case against the lorry driver Nagesh Naik for rash driving.
