Japan Appoints New Ambassador to China


Tokyo, Nov 22 (IANS): Japan Thursday appointed Masato Kitera its new ambassador to China.

Sixty-year-old Kitera, who graduated from Tokyo University, has been working for the foreign ministry since 1976, China Daily reported.

He served as assistant chief cabinet secretary before he was appointed ambassador to China. The appointment will be effective from next Monday.
