Mangalore: Man Hacked to Death at Yekkar

Mangalore, Nov 27: A man, said to be a native of Bhadravati, was found murdered at Durganagar in Yekkar here on Tuesday November 27 morning.

The deceased has been identified has Siddappa (45), who worked at a chicken stall at Yekkar. He was married.

He had been staying with Shivananda, another worker from the same stall, in an accomodation near his workplace.

The motive as well as the circumstances leading to the murder are shrouded in mystery. According to Shivananda, he and Siddappa had dinner together the previous night and went to bed as usual. There seemed to be no hint of anything being amiss. However, on waking up on Tuesday morning, Shivananda found Siddappa hacked to death near the chicken stall.

It is said that Sidappa had joined the chicken stall only a few months ago.

Bajpe police rushed to the spot and began investigations.
