Shanghai, Nov 29 (IANS): Indian spiritual guru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, popularly known as Amma, has arrived here to address a UN conference, an aide said Thursday.
The two-day meet on "Harmony through Diversity and Dialogue" will be attended by more than 150 delegates representing governments, academia, corporations, NGOs and cultural organisations.
The UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) has organised the conference, a spokesperson for Amma told IANS.
During the past 40 years, Amma has embraced more than 32 million people from all over the world as a gesture of blessing.
Amma's charitable humanitarian organization, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, has provided free medical care to more than 2.6 million people.
