Mangalore, Dec 1: Two people were killed when a under construction house terrace collapsed over them near Ullasnagar in Harekal, Ullal on Friday November 30.
 
The deceased are identified as Maaby Saabu (20) and Maalappa (21), both residents of Gadag district.
 

As per the information received, the house belongs to Ganesh and the contract for the construction was given to Mohandas Shetty. It is said that the terrace was constructed a few days back.
 
Sources said that, the contractor had ordered the duo workers to remove the wooden pillars that were supporting the terrace.

This incident is said to have taken place, wherein a part of terrace in the kitchen which was 30 feet high came tumbling down over the two workers. The duo died on the spot as they were badly injured.
 
As the terrace was 30 feet in high, the contractor did not install any supporting pillars adding to this the terrace was not completely dry yet.
 
It is said that, the contractor’s carelessness resulted in this tragic incident. A case has been registered against him at the Konaje police station.
