Mangalore: Father Poisons Children, Arrested for Mixing Glass Powder in Banana

Mangalore, Dec 2: Police have arrested a person for attempting to kill his two daughters and a neighbor girl by mixing glass powder in a banana.

The incident took place near Arkepadav in Mooduperar on November 29 evening.

The accused has been identified as Gangayya Gowda (40), who was working at a red stone mine. Gangayya used to sell house belongings and with the money he received, he used to consume alcohol.

On November 29, he allegedly mixed glass powder and gave his two daughters and a neighboring girl to eat. As soon as they consumed it, their mouth started bleeding and soon they were rushed to hospital.

The incident of the glass powder mixed in the fruit came to light on further medical examination.

Personal rivalry is the reason behind the cruel act said police sources.

The accused is arrested by Bajpe police as per the complaint filed by his son Hemachandra.
