Russia's FC Zenit Out of World's Top 100 Clubs

Moscow, Dec 4 (IANS): After a month of injuries, hooligan violence and general scandal both on and off the pitch, FC Zenit St. Petersburg faced more bad news when the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) announced its updated rankings of global football clubs.

Defending Russian Premier League champions Zenit, now down to 126th place from 95th, remain behind Anzhi Makhachkala (38th) and FK Rubin Kazan (72nd) among Russian clubs on the list, reports Xinhua.

Spanish club Barcelona remain top of the rankings, while other traditional powerhouses of world football, Argentina's Boca Juniors, Brazil's Corinthians, Germany's Bayern Munich and fellow Spanish clubs Real and Athletico Madrid also stay in the top ten.
