Udupi: Boat Sinks in Malpe, Loss Estimated at Rs 30 Lac

Udupi, Dec 6: A deep sea fishing boat which left from Malpe port sank here on Wednesday December 5, incurring heavy loss.

The boat was owned by FM Fayaaz.

The total loss has been estimated at Rs 30 lac.

As per the information received, the boat had left Malpe port on December 4. Around 11 pm near Telkal the base part of the boat hit against a rock, hence water entered in.

Around seven fishermen were there in the boat. They were rescued by Hanumabenaka boat which was nearby.
