Mumbai: Model Cooperative Bank Holds ‘Customers Meet’

Mumbai, Dec 18: The Model Cooperative Bank Limited celebrated ‘2012 International Year of Co-operatives’ and ‘Customers Meet’ here at Emerald Hall in Hotel Kohinoor Continential, Andheri (East) on Friday December 14.

Bishop Percival Fernandez of Mumbai diocese was the chief guest while Albert W D’Souza, working president of Model bank presided over the programme.

In his presidential address, Albert D’Souza said that few catholics united and started Mangalorean Catholic Co-operative Credit Society in the year 1916 which was later transformed into Model Cooperative bank. In the cooperative field, this bank acts as a role model bank to others, he added.

He also briefed about the security deposits, advance payments, total incomes of the bank to the shareholders, adding he also placed the future plans of the bank.

John D'Silva, founder Chairman of Model Cooperative Bank limited and a pioneer of Co-operative Movement was honoured on the occasion.

As a token of appreciation and recognition to the continued support and patronage of all the customers who contributed to the growth and development of the bank, few customers were selected for felicitation. The function was well attended and was a great success. The feedback received from the customers was very encouraging.

Albert D’Souza welcomed the gathering while William L D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks.

William Sequeira, vice president, directors - professor AP D’Souza, Vincent Mathias, Paul Nazareth, Benedicta B Rebello, Lazarus Menezes, Philip Pinto, Abraham C Lobo, George Castelino, Franciz Vaz, general manager, former directors, staffs of various branches were present.
