Advance Tax Collections Rise 10 Percent


New Delhi, Dec 24 (IANS): Advance tax collections increased 10.44 percent year-on-year to Rs.78,226 crore in the first 20 days of December, government data showed Monday.

In the first 20 days of this month, advance tax collection was Rs.78,226 crore, which was 10.44 percent higher than the Rs.70,826 crore advance tax collected in the corresponding period last year, the finance ministry said in a statement.

Advance tax collections in the current financial year between April 1 to Dec 20 increased by 7.52 percent year-on-year.

Collections from personal income tax increased 12.3 percent, while there was 7 percent increase in advance tax collections from corporates.
