Police Constable Injured During Protests Dies


New Delhi, Dec 25 (PTI): Delhi Police constable Subhash Tomar,who was injured in the Sunday violence at India Gate during protests against gang-rape of a girl dies at a hospital, police said.

Subhash Chand Tomar (47) breathed his last at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital this morning.

He was on ventilator since his admission in the hospital.

Tomar, a graduate, hailed from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

He was posted in Karawal Nagar area and was called for maintaining law and order at India Gate area during the protest on Sunday.

He was found lying injured on Tilak Marg and was rushed to hospital.

    The BJP activists have politicised the issue, took law into their hand and destroyed public property. Mrs. Sushma Swaraj took advantage of the situation for their vote bank and such people need to be condemned. Again, the public should file a PIL against them for inciting the emotion of the turmoil situation and fuelling fury to it.

    Firstly the cops are totally inefficient bunch of corruput people they are reactive & not proactive. As depicted in the films if at all they arrive, it is in the last minute, all they do is lathi charge on innocent protestors, and I saw couple of pics were cops were kicking a lady who was the floor. When they indulge in such autocracies, obviously the protestors get agitated and this happens. Any ways RIP Mr Tomar
