Three Killed in Iraq Violence


Baghdad, Dec 28 (IANS): At least three people, including two policemen, were killed Thursday in Iraqi city of Mosul, 400 from capital city of Baghdad, Xinhua reported.

Two policemen were shot dead when gunmen, using silenced weapons, stormed a restaurant in Nineveh province's Mosul city, a source said requesting anonymity.

In another attack, gunmen shot dead an Iraqi army soldier in the city, the source added.

Mosul has been a stronghold for insurgent groups, including Al-Qaeda militants since the US-led invasion of the country in 2003.
