Show no Mercy, he has Ruined Us, says Father of Accused

Patna, Dec 31 (DHNS): Even as the gang-rape victim was cremated in New Delhi, an eerie silence prevailed at a nondescript village Karmalahang in Bihar’s Aurangabad district. This is the native place of one of the accused Akshay Kumar who was arrested by the Delhi Police on December 21, two days after he gave the police the slip.

With the death of the victim, the villagers in general and Akshay’s family members in particular are now convinced that he will be slapped with murder charge, and therefore are bracing up for an imminent death sentence for him.

“My son Akshay has ruined our family. The kind of crime he has perpetrated, he deserves no mercy,” said his father Saryu Singh, a farmer. Aware of what is in store for Akshay, the remorseful family wants stringent punishment for him, but at the same time his parents remain more worried over their daughter-in-law and Akshay’s two-and-a-half year old son.

“Akshay may get death sentence for the kind of crime he has committed. But my daughter-in-law and grandson will have to suffer throughout their life.

Sab barbad ho gaya. Samaaj mein moonh dikhane layak nahin rahein hain hum log (Everything has been ruined. We can’t face society anymore). My grandson will feel ashamed of using his father’s name,” said Akshay’s mother Lilavati Devi.

Though Aurangabad police insist that neither Akshay nor any of his family members had any criminal past, but one shameful and unpardonable incident by this local (who shifted to Delhi a few months back) has ruined everything. It has completely destroyed his family and brought enormous disrepute to Aurangabad.
