Muscat, Jan 3: Spandana, Muscat, under the auspices of Oman Central Blood Bank, department of blood services, ministry of health, is all set to organize its maiden blood donation camp on Thursday January 10 from 9 am to 2 pm at Bldg No 79, Way No 2116, Al Muzamma Street, Opp Hotel Al Falaj Tennis Court, Ruwi.  This will be a unique New Year gift to humanity from Spandana, Muscat.

For past two years Spandana has been actively involved in organizing cultural events, promotion of art and culture, charity activities etc. Blood donation is another initiative from the Spandana team. As a social responsibility, it is necessary to recognize the importance of blood donation campaigns as it not only assures an adequate supply of blood, but also saves thousands of lives.

One need not be a doctor to save a life!' Just by donating blood one can also save someone’s life. While, every individual has the responsibility towards his nation, business organization, family and children, one also has to fulfill his/her responsibility towards the society. For the younger generation to be healthy it is our prime responsibility today to ensure that we fulfill our duties in contributing towards health care. One of the simplest and easiest methods to fulfill this social responsibility is to donate ones blood.

Blood donation is the process of giving blood so that it can be used for blood transfusion in the future. It is the best type of donation one can make for the benefit of the society which costs nothing and at the same time is a priceless gesture. One only needs a desire to serve others, known or unknown, being a blood donor.
