Udupi, Jan 3: Panic spread in front of Abharan Motors after dry grass in the place caught fire here at Hanumanthanagara on Thursday January 3 noon.
However, a major fire was averted due to timely help of locals and fire extinguishers, said the reports.
Carelessly thrown cigarette butt or carelessness of public could have been the reason behind this fire.
The region consists of buildings, huts and hence care should be taken to ensure that such incidents do not take place in future, locals said.
