Drone Strikes Kill Seven in Pakistan


Islamabad, Jan 8 (IANS): At least seven suspected militants were killed in two drone attacks in Pakistan's northwest tribal region, Geo News reported Tuesday.

One drone fired three missiles at a house in Haider Khel area in North Waziristan late Monday killing four people.

Missiles fired in the nearby Khaso Khel area killed another three people.

On Sunday, Pakistani Taliban leader Wali Muhammad alias Toofan Mehsud, said to head the group's suicide wing, was among 16 people killed in a drone strike in South Waziristan.

Wali Muhammad was the cousin of Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud.
Last week, Taliban commander Mullah Nazir was similarly killed.
