Rajiv Takru Appointed Financial Services Secretary


New Delhi, Jan 9 (IANS): Rajiv Takru, currently additional secretary and financial adviser in the department of health and family welfare, will be the next financial services secretary, the government announced Wednesday.

Takru, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, will replace Dinesh Kumar Mittal, who retires Jan 31.

The appointments committee of the cabinet has approved the name of Takru as secretary in the financial services department.

The cabinet also approved appointment of Ravi Mathur, additional secretary in the labour and employment ministry, as disinvestment secretary.

Mathur, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, will take charge from Mittal, who has been holding additional charge of disinvestment since retirement of Mohammad Haleem Khan in November.
