Bluetooth Earphones Out of Stock in China

Beijing, Jan 9 (IANS): A new traffic rule that bans speaking on phones while driving cars in China has sparked a frenzy among users to buy Bluetooth earphones online, resulting in many websites running out of stock.

E-commerce websites like 360buy.com and Amazon China have sold out their stock of Bluetooth earphones, the Shanghai Daily reported.

Sellers of branded Bluetooth earphones on Taobao, China's biggest online auction website, said they could not provide the product until next week because of surging demand.

Popular Bluetooth earphone brands like Jabra, Plantronics and Nokia are also sold out online.

The revised traffic rule, effective from Jan 1, forbids drivers from talking on their mobile phones without using Bluetooth headsets while driving.
