B'lore: Minister, ABVP Activists Raid KSOU Exam Centre, ‘Expose’ Malpractices

Bangalore, Jan 11 (DHNS): Students appearing for the ongoing exams of the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) at the Gangamma Hombegowda PU College were in for a rude shock on Thursday.

Minister for Higher Education, C T Ravi, along with a number of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) activists and representatives of a news channel paid a surprise visit to the exam centre and allegedly found exam malpractices including mass copying.

The students were appearing for their MBA, BTech, MTech, MSc, BSc and BCA exams that began on Saturday.
“A journalist from a news channel had conducted a sting operation on Wednesday by posing as a replacement for another student in the exam. She gave the custodian Rs 1,000 and was allowed to write the exam. It is malpractices such as this that we want to expose,” said Balaji, an ABVP activist.

The Parishat alleged that this was nothing new in the KSOU exams. It said that the authorities in charge of conducting the exams were also to be blamed for the malpractices.

“In the past three years, this is the first time I have come across such complaints. Nevertheless, I will ensure that a proper inquiry is conducted and anyone found guilty is punished. Students should not face any inconvenience because of this incident. The minister has requested me to take appropriate action,” said KSOU Vice Chancellor K S Rangappa.

However, the invigilators and head of the examination at the centre said the ABVP activists indulged in acts of harassment and manhandling.

“Members of the ABVP came inside the room and started shouting at us. They tore answersheets of the students and forcefully took out textbooks from the bags. That is when they started filming us. They raised slogans against the KSOU as well,” said an invigilator.

ABVP activists said they had recovered several proofs of malpractices.

Malpractices should be brought to the notice of proper authorities and they should take action.
Yours\my and others job is to inform the concerned authorities and not to take law in our own hands.
It is so evident those 6 persons raped that woman - can we barge into the Police station and punish those guys?
So also C.T.Ravi being a minister is not aware how it is done - sorry state of affairs. But nothing surprising as he is MINISTER OF OUR KARNATAKA BJP GOVERNMENT!!!!!!

Whether ABVP does it or any other does it, they did the right thing by exposing the malpractice. When someone does crime to us, of course police have to catch but we must appreciate any person / organization comes to our help in our crisis. Does it make sense? Now, public must be united (like Delhi rape case) & stress government to punish the culprits.

Minister C.T.Ravi who himself is in the cobweb of misappropriation of wealth is raiding a college with the help of his chelas ABVP guys is showing everyone in the state how if we vote BJP next time is going to rule. I think all policemen and authoretative govt., personnel have to go home. I will not be surprised this shameless minister will appoint all ABVP and BD activists in police department soon. How he can take these guys while raiding, is it to impress them during coming election and use them as his volunteers.

If Minister of Higher Education does not know how to conduct an inspection for anomalies during exams, then he is not fit to be in that position at all.
Can you believe activists entering exam halls along with this minister to apprehend students suspected copying etc.

There is a doubt, that the Minister himself did something wrong there, accusing wrongly the college administrators and students. He hired these activists to malign the college reputation for some reason, reason by now well know to all Karnataka people which is non-payment of bribe by the college.
BJP is famous for all this, if they do not get their bribes\hand-outs etc.
Can he explain his action, barging into the exam hall with these activist goons? Are those activist goons allowed in the exam hall?

Minister wants to show the voters that he is active, by this kind of dadagiri!!!!!
