Mangalore: Viveka Chetana Youth Programme Held at Ramakrishna Math

Mangalore, Jan 12: On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary, ‘Viveka Chathana’ youth programme was held here at Swami Vivekananda hall in Ramakrishna Math on Friday January 11.

Dr Prabhakar Bhat, convener of Sri Ram institution, Kalladka inaugurated the programme by lighting the auspicious lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Prabhakar Bhat, in his address, termed Swami Vivekanada as a power who said what is right and wrong to people. “But these days situations arise where people tend to forget some important people”, he added.

“Until Mountbatten's rule, Indians faced severe problems.Later a situation arose where the Indians forgot themselves. It was Vivekananda who created awareness among the people about their identity during the situation”, said Bhat.

Speaking about the intelligent people produced by this country, he asked students to stop thinking that they are nothing. He urged them to make Vivekananda as their role model and walk in his path.

“Vivekananda’s love towards the nation is commendable. He has taken our nation to greater heights in all his activities even at the international conferences. His love, respect to the nation and towards women should be a role model for all of us”, he added.

Swami Jeethakaamanandaji in his address, briefed about the life of Swami Vivekananda. “Swami Vivekananda, in all his works, praised the tradition and culture of India”, he said.

Speaking about Swami Vivekananda’s contribution to education, he said, “The youth should take up education and at the end it should benefit in shaping their character.”  He further asked the students to have a glimpse of his life.

“India can achieve all its goals through education and mainly through its youth”, he added.

Swami Jeethakaamanandaji, president of Ramakrishna Math, N Yogesh Bhat, deputy speaker, Ganesh Karnik, MLC captain, N Prakash, district commissioner, K N Vijayprakash, CEO of zilla panchayat and Nithin Kumar, president of Meenugarara Nigama shared the dais.
