M'lore: Gold Biscuits Worth Rs 10.85 Lac Seized at Airport

Mangalore, Jan 18: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Friday January 18 seized three gold biscuits of SUISSE from a passenger.

The passenger has been identified as Mohammed Ali Moideen Kunhi, a resident of Thalangara, Kasargod, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport by Air India Express Flight IX814 from Dubai at 6.30 am.

The gold biscuits sezied weigh 349.970 grams and are valued at Rs 10.85 lac. They were concealed inside mobiles phones, said Mangalore customs commissioner D Puroshattam in a press note.

Further investigation is under progress.

    Problem with people like u is that u take everything for granted and if some one is doing his work gives u pain...
    If laws are implemented in proper manner then biased person like u are never to encourage them but are always in discouraging others...

    People,

    If he made an ornament from it, it would have been legal.

    Poor guy must have wanted to save labour charges.

    I would have warned him and let him go.

    But Customs guys wanted some publicity,,, and got it at the expense of this poor chap....

    350 grams Gold?It is nothing.It will not enough for his daughter's or sister's marriage.I think it is his foolishness for not declaring gold which could brought in with some tax.
