Sochi to Restore all Roads by Autumn


Moscow, Jan 19 (IANS): Sochi, the Russian city which will host the 2014 Winter Olympics, will finish restoring all car roads and buildings over 10 underground walkways by this autumn, authorities have said.

The construction of Olympic facilities was expected to conclude early summer, after which the road repair work would start, reports Xinhua.

The walkways will be built at the busiest streets of the Black Sea resort.

"We have 100 million roubles ($3.3 million) for the design of walkways, and 100 million roubles for the repairing part," Artem Fedotov, a member with Sochi's municipal administration said.

Special attention will be paid to the roads which would be used for access to facilities of the Winter Olympic Games, he added.
